The Pigeons are Talking
  • COVID-19 CIRCA. 2020
Trailer
Program Note This documentary and video essay is a collaboration between four directors from Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea who communicated online. Referring to themselves as messenger pigeons connected by their love for nature and the environment, they each explore the signs of the climate crisis and environmental pollution in their respective cities from their own perspectives. Despite being filmed in different countries and cities, the images captured by these four directors come together to form a single, universal phenomenon that transcends borders and languages. This film shares a sense of awareness about the climate crisis through four contemplative essays, rather than scientific or educational lessons.

Pigeon Collective” is a multinational project. We try to connect each other through the gaze of a pigeon, which changes its way of life depending on the urban form, and by imagining the pigeon as a messenger crossing the oceans. Currently, another collaborative project about forests is underway.
