| Program Note | De ROLLER is the Haut-Commissaire on an island in French Polynesia. He is a man with a precise and calculating mind but also enjoys good ties with his co-citizens. However, the island begins to teeter as the rumor spreads- that France will carry out a nuclear test on the island. As the title suggests, Pacifiction, “Pacific-Fiction” is a fiction set in the Pacific that brings up conversations about nature and human, the history of mankind and nuclear, through the metaphors. Albert SERRA’s unique slowness and extreme images continuously collide and consort. |
