| Synopsis | Jesmark, a struggling fisherman on the island of Malta, is forced to turn his back on generations of tradition and risk everything by entering the world of black market fishing to provide for his wife and newborn baby. |

He is a Maltese-American filmmaker. He is an alum of both the Sundance Institute and Film Independent labs. Luzzu is his debut feature film, a neorealist drama offering a rare look at Malta’s fishing industry.
