Synopsis | In the wake of the 100-mile diet and the public’s increasing desire for local and organic food,Crackdown! tells the story of Toronto’s urban chicken keepers just want access to fresh eggs at home for their families “Pets with benefits”, if you will. The film takes a satirical look at the municipal by laws that forced this movement underground and what it means to raise chickens in your backyard, – and become a criminal for doing so. |

Jan KECK is an adventurous, independent documentary storyteller & cinematographer whose primary goal is to produce works that change, educate and inspire. He was born in Germany where he studied audio-visual media at the University of Media in Stuttgart. Most recently he is working on a feature documentary about people who are criminalized for growing food in the city.
